Wayne Carson recently sat down with Castanet as part of its Vernon Votes 2026 candidate series.

FireSmart and Wildfire Preparedness
With decades of experience in wildfire response, Wayne has made wildfire preparedness a central focus of his campaign. In the interview, he discusses the importance of expanding FireSmart initiatives throughout the valley and shares his thoughts on permanently mounted roof sprinkler systems as one potential tool to help protect homes and improve firefighter safety.
Public Safety and Community Presence
Wayne also discusses the role of bylaw enforcement and the importance of maintaining a visible presence in the community, particularly in downtown Vernon.
